HPW Successfully Defends Engineer in Bet the Company Litigation Over Stadium Steel Design

HPW defended the engineer of record against “bet the company” level allegations of cost overruns, delays and acceleration damages arising out of the steel design of a stadium. The case involved standard of care on a fast track project, responsibility for complex connection design and causation issues related to concurrent delays.   As a result of extensive factual and forensic analysis and use of top tier experts, resolution was achieved well within policy limits and exponentially lower than the quarter of a billion sought by the plaintiff.
